Who will be in the Court room?

This is Childrens Court
Only people in your childs case will be there.
Like
  • the magistrate
  • your lawyer
and
  • your childs lawyer. She is also called the
    Independent Legal Representative
    or
    Direct Legal Representative
  • Community Services lawyer.
    He is called the DCJ lawyer
  • you
Ask your lawyer about other people in the court room. Like
  • your advocate
  • your support person.

Your Child

Young children are not in Court.
Children more than 12 years may go to Court.
Like a child who is 14 or 16.
Each child makes their own choice.
Many of these children do not come to Court.
