Second Chances
What I want to say to other parents:
You can ask your lawyer for another parent assessment, I wish I knew I could do that.
Fight for what you think is best for your child.
Community Services came in to my life when my child was 7 weeks old.
They did a care plan which said he was coming home. I felt happy.
After my assessment, Community Services changed the care plan saying my child was better off
with the dad.
I was upset, worried and angry.
I think it was unfair. It felt like they judged me and it was wrong.
I wish I got a second chance at the parent assessment.
I wish I got a second chance to be his mum fulltime.
I was on tablets for depression and my mind was everywhere.
Now my child is with me half of the time. My child is 8 years old now.
I did a lot of courses and a lot more things to try and better myself.
I also did playgroups to bond with my child.
I now have a second child who I have full time care of.
I am bonding with both my kids and doing a lot of family things.
