Who can help you?

It can be hard to work with Community Services.

Community Services have other names too. Like
- DCJ
- FACS
- DOCS.


You can not do this on your own.
It is good to have help.

You can get help
- with Court

- to parent well

- to look after yourself.

You may need help from
- a legal person. This is called a lawyer
- a support person
- an advocate.

Legal help

You can get legal help for
- information about your choices
- Court.

Advocate

An advocate can help you
- in meetings
- at court.

They can help you
- speak up for your self
- talk for you
- know what others are saying.


Help to parent well

To get help to parent well is good
- before you work with Community Services
- when you work with Community Services

You can get help from
- a parenting group
- a worker in your home.


Look after you.

You can get help from
- friends
- family
- a counsellor.

You may feel
- scared
- sad
- fed up.

It is important to look after your feelings.

A counsellor can help you
- talk about how you feel
- care for yourself
- make plans to help yourself

Friends and family can
- listen to you
- go to meetings with you
- be with you.
